New Zealand's Rx For Cat Owners!

The Sweet Treat For Cat Acne!
When it comes to pet ownership France, Ireland and the U.S. may be leading
the pack. Don't take it wrong, we're sure pet owners in Australia, Italy,
Germany and Spain care for their pets, but not in the same way
the people of France, Ireland and the U.S. do.

With that said, if you're a cat owner and want the best for them, then you

may want to know all about a medical issue that affects a large number of
cats.
What is it? Cat Acne.
Yes, the same thing that derails many a teen, is also a problem for a lot

of cats. And if you're seeing blackheads or breakouts on kittys' chin,
look to Australia's next door neighbor for help.

What type of help?
Honey as in Manuka honey.
Called the best (and expensive) honey in the World, vets recommend
disinfecting the spotted area with Betadine antiseptic (available at drugstores)
then applying a salve of Manuka honey, which has skin-healing properties.
And also important: the breakouts may be caused by overactive oil glands,

allergies or stress- so if you're not sure, check with your Vet.

One last request:
If you or someone close to you is truly a "cat lover" and you want some tips on how to curtail or even eliminate some of their anti-social and bad behaviors, head on over to Amazon.com/the kindle store and type--see title to the right in the search bar.
what type of behaviors?
* walking between your legs, which may result in your being
   injured (or worse)
* creating a ruckus whenever the cat carrier comes out
* Peeing (or worse) in the tub or sink, believe it or not,
your kitty may have an urinary tract infection
* hissing at company
* chewing on and tearing up Christmas decorations or
  the curtains.
* going after your garden or houseplants
* jumping on your computer
* ending Vet anxiety
Plus, many more tips.

Good Luck!

New Zealand's Rxs For Better Health!

                                      Health Benefits From New Zealand!

New Zealand seems to take a back seat to its more popular neighbor-Australia,
but things may change in due time.

What type of change? With the exporting of two foods.
What two foods? Kiwi and Manuka Honey!

That's right-
Kiwi and honey can help boost health in a number of ways-first

the kiwi.
If one alternative healer has his way, he says he wants the fuzzy fruit
to take center stage like the apple in the next decade, why?
It's a "powerhouse" of a food. Look below and learn why it should
replace the apple.
a) Blood Clots-
Plan on taking a long plane trip?
Kiwi has compounds that act like a plumber's snake able to clear
out sludge from arteries.
b) Cold Prevention-
A woman (a school teacher) looking for something to help prevent

the number of colds she received each yr. was told to eat 2 kiwi a day.
She didn't get a cold that yr. and when she did- the duration of cold was
much shorter. A small Kiwi has higher levels of vitamin C, more so than an
orange.
c) Unclog Arteries-
As you read in the above statement about blood clots- Kiwi has also been

recommended to unclog arteries. Arteries that have been ravaged by smoking,
poor diet and inactivity, don't stand a chance with Kiwi.
d) A Beauty Aid-
The schoolteacher mentioned earlier, had some unexpected side effects
after eating 2 kiwi a day, what were they?
The undereye circles she tried to hide with makeup disappeared and the
layers of makeup she caked onto her skin was no longer necessary.
Kiwi is especially beneficial for dry skin. Dry Winter skin.
That's it- and there's no need to travel to New Zealand to find good kiwi,
look for it at your supermarket or produce store. And for the daring types-
look for the new golden kiwi.

And now on to Manuka Honey, it too- comes from the land down under
(New Zealand) and it's one of the healthiest honeys around.
And with flu and cold season in full swing-it can help you quiet the coughing fits.
Dark honey's antioxidants and enzymes soothe irritated mucous membranes,
easing the inflammation that triggers the cough reflex.
It works better than cough medicine.

And lastly, do not give dark or lightly colored honey to kids under a yr. old
and be prepared to spend, Manuka honey is expensive.

That's it- 2 health tips from Australia's neighbor- New Zealand!

Good Luck!

P.S. please let family, friends and even your enemies know about the
healthy tips you're learning from this blog. The more people learn about
taking care of their own health- the sooner we can put the big pharmaceutical

companies out of business.

New Zealand's Rx To Fight Colds!

                  Fight Colds Like New Zealanders!
Grandmoms, Moms, doctors and now-New Zealanders have used honey to treat a
host of ailments. Manuka honey derived from nectar of the flowering manuka bush
(located in New Zealand)  is reportedly one of the healthiest and most potent
types of honey around.
Why? It has antibacterial, antifungal and anti-inflammatory properties.
And if you're trying to avoid a Winter cold- taking a tbsp. of Manuka honey

daily is one of the best things you can do for yourself and members of your family.
And if you do come down with a cold, the honey will help you recover faster.
Plus, thanks to it's germ-killing abilities, manuka honey also treats stomach problems
like food poisoning, ulcers and colitis.

More tips: Honey is okay for people older than 2 yrs. old, giving it to kids
younger than 2 may cause problems. And if you do plan on buying Manuka
honey-be prepared to spend. A 16 oz. btl. costs more than $20.
So, use it wisely.

Good Luck!
