Stay Well This Winter Season!
If you're in a certain part of the U.S. consider yourself lucky.
Lucky how? This Winter has been quite mild and a mild Winter
means fewer colds, sore throats, and other health woes.
But if you're in Germany, England, or Canada, then you probably
have to deal with the weight gain, sore throats and "SAD", also
known as Seasonal Affective Disorder or maybe not.
That's right- thanks to some research we've uncovered, some countries
have specific ways to ward off all types of ills associated with the Winter season,
and if you want that specific information, just continue reading.
a) Germany-
Want to stay slim and trim like the Germans? Eat potatoes.
Potatoes? Yes, potatoes, the Germans eat 2 times as many potatoes as their
American brothers and sisters and are 90% less likely to be overweight.
Potatoes get a bad rap, but when eaten alone with a little butter, or sour cream
or salsa, they provide your body with a host of nutrients that keep you full and
your metabolism working at peak efficiency.
And if you do plan on eating more potatoes this Winter, remember to eat them baked,
steamed or boiled and not fried in a vat of cooking oil.
Also steer clear of the burgers and buns, soft drinks and the high calorie dessert.
b) Mongolia-
Not a lot of information from Mongolia, but if you want to avoid the run down feeling
that occurs during this time of yr. do like the Mongolians and massage your ears.
Yes, we're accustomed to back, foot and hand massages, but in certain parts of
the World, massaging the ears brings a host of health benefits, and one of those
benefits is more energy. A 2 minute ear massage gives you 90 minutes of invigorating
energy. Massage your own ears or ask a loved one to gently massage your ears.
c) Austria-
People in Austria who come down with a sore throat gargle with Scnapps.
That's right- the people (adults) use the flavorful alcoholic beverage to
get rid of that feeling of sandpaper being rubbed across one's throat.
And if you're a kid, gargle with salt water or honey and lemon.
d) Italy and The Ukraine-
If you're thinking garlic, give yourself a pat on the back, because you're right.
After coming down with a cold or flu- the people really go on the attack, how?
By adding garlic (raw and cooked) to meals, soups, vegetable broths, etc.
Garlic has compounds that sabotage the growth and spread of invading germs.
e) Iceland-
If you're thinking, saunas, skyr or cross country skiing, you're right and wrong.
Yes, they use all of these things to stay well and prevent illness, but this tip
requires that you write... as in a journal.
Some Icelanders have escaped harsh weather and all that comes with it by
immersing themselves in ancient tales of history, feuds or romance.
One in ten women from Iceland will write a book at some point in her life
and thanks to all of that writing, the people are able to forgo pain medicine.
Say what? Writing for 15 minutes a day, revs the output of painkilling,
mood-elevating serotonin, which helps decrease Winter aches and pain by 70%.
There you have it, 5 great tips from your brothers and sisters around the World
to help you get through this Winter season with your health intact.
And one last tip--
If you want to know how the people of Germany, Australia, China, Korea, Japan,
Jamaica, Denmark, Italy, France, Greece, and Spain keep their immune systems
in tip-top shape (to avoid colds and flu) head on over to Amazon.com/the kindle
store and type The World's Best Immunity Boosters, Never Get Sick Again
in the search bar.
Download it and really keep yourself and your loved ones hale and hearty
for yrs. and yrs.
Good Luck!
