Healing Fruits of The Mediterranean!

                                  The Fruit Rxs!

In the U.S. Farmers' Markets are quite popular this time of year, you know local farmers
selling fruits, vegetables, eggs, dairy products, meats and baked goods.

And if you're lucky enough to travel to Europe, more specifically, The Mediterranean,
try and take advantage of the fruits and vegetables the farmers are selling at their
outdoor markets.

And unlike the apples, oranges and blueberries you'll find in the U.S.
fruits like grapes, dates and pomegranates are available along the Mediterranean.
And if you do partake in the fruit, here are some healthy benefits you'll get from each
fruit.
a) Grapes-
If you're a regular here then you may read have a post (or two) on grapes.
And if you like grapes, and you want to stave off the aging process you're in luck.
Grapes (especially dark grapes) are loaded with resveratrol, a compound that shuts
off the aging gene, helping you look and feel younger.
It (resveratrol) also boosts memory, and lowers your odds of getting certain cancers
and strokes.
And lastly, dark grapes are great for those who don't drink.
Resveratrol is also present in red wine.
b) Pomegranates-
Popular in a number of countries, pomegranates boast a number of health
claims...keeps skin tight and taut, a stronger heart and today's claim: less wear and tear
on your liver. Pomegranate helps filter out the pollutants and toxins
that invade your liver and kidneys. And something more impressive-
Pomegranates can help regrow liver and kidney cells damaged by pollutants.
And if you're a newly diagnosed cancer patient, drink and eat pomegranates.

The juice makes tumor cells self-destruct.
c) Dates-
In some countries, dates as are popular as apples are here in the U.S. and
if you're not a fan or have never eaten a date, perhaps you will after reading this.

Dates can help you lower stress levels, (better than doctor-prescribed meds)
lower blood pressure and fight seasonal allergies. (put away the anti-histamines
and inhalers and pick up some dates).
d) Plums-
One doctor says the plum is the Meditarraneans' equivalent to the apple.

Why? it can bolster health in a number of ways. What types of ways?
Preserve your memory, stave off brain aging.
Build strong bones and keep them strong.
Protect skin from the Sun's harmful UV rays. Natural sunscreen.
e) Apricots-
One researcher who traveled to the Himalayans to study the Hunza tribe
was shocked to find that there weren't any cases of cancer.

How was that possible? Apricots. Packed with vitamin B17, a vitamin so powerful
cancerous tumors don't stand a chance.
Some say the seed may contain all of the special benefits.
But before crushing the seed and ingesting it, it's best to talk to someone knowledgeable about the seed and the proper way to treat and eat it.

That's it, and if you want more tips like these, head to Amazon.com/the kindle store
and type...see title to the right.
Download this E-Doc and learn the benefits of eating
some of America's best Summer fruits.
Fruits like- peaches, apricots, plums, blueberries, blackberries and cherries.
And lastly, if you're pregnant, or planning to become pregnant, learn the
fruit that'll help you prevent miscarriage, a long labour and it may even help you get pregnant with twins.

Good Luck!

The Middle Eastern Sweet Treat To Lower Stress Levels!

                               The Ramadan Snack!

Since this is the month of Ramadan?
You know, when Muslims fast from sunrise to sunset.
And did you know that one of the most popular foods to be eaten

after sunsets are dates.
Why dates?
It's rumored that Muhammad broke his fast by eating a few dates.

And if you're a Muslim who fasts during the month of June, or if you're
a Christian or Buddist looking for way to destress and become more calm,

look no further than the sweet treat known as dates.

Yes, in the U.S. our go- to fruits are apples, oranges and bananas, but
not in a lot of Middle Eastern countries, for them a few dates is as
appealing as a bowl of blueberries or banana slices are in the U.S.
And that's not all- like most fruit, dates also benefit you health-wise.

What types of benefits?
How about helping you calm and lowering stress benefits.

The fruit also known as "nature's candy" is loaded with
calcium and magnesium, which lowers stress levels,
and it also contains potassium which lowers blood pressure
and zinc, copper and selenium, all of which brighten your mood.
So, if you're an apple and orange kind of guy or gal, broaden
your horizons and do like our brothers and sisters in the Middle East,
and start eating the fruit that's been around for thousands of yrs.

also known as Dates.
That's it- for this Saturday.

Good Luck!
