Good Luck Foods For The New Year!

Eat Your Way To Better Luck In 2016!

If you believe in superstitions or traditions or rituals then you
may want to do like the people of some Southern states do on the first
of the year.
And what is that?
They eat black-eyed peas.

And along with the peas, they have greens, collards and turnips, (green
for financial success) rice and pork.
This is considered "soul food, but for some reason, the people think their
new year will be a financial success if they eat these particular foods.
And if you come from a country that has a particular food ritual for
the new year, then by all means continue it and if you like to start a new ritual

and follow in the footsteps of your American brothers and sisters, use the recipe
listed below.
The Recipe For "Hoppin' John!"
Ingredients:
Bacon, 3 slices, chopped
1 medium onion, chopped 1 cup
2 cloves of garlic, minced
1/4 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. black pepper
1/8 tsp. curry powder
1/8 tsp. paprika

1 Tbs. apple cider vinegar
2 cups of rice, cooked
2 cups of chopped greens, collards (buy them already cleaned)
1 can of black-eyed peas, rinsed and drained
1 cup of cherry tomatoes

----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Directions:
In a large nonstick skillet, cook the bacon until done,
Add the onion, garlic and the seasonings.
Stir frequently, just until the onions and garlic are tender.

And to finish up this tasty dish, add the vinegar and 1/2 cup of water;
bring to a boil and cook for a minute. Stir in the rice, greens and peas, cook until
heated through, about 3 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in the tomatoes.
And to make this meal more traditional- serve it with some cornbread.

That's it, a Southern Soul Food Dish to help usher in more good luck

Poland's Rx For A Healthier Brain!

When you think of a country, sometimes a certain food comes to mind.

France, you think of cheese and wine, Sardinia, you think Fava beans,
Greece- you think coffee, nuts and lamb, the Middle East, you think
mint, chick peas and saffron.
And then there's Poland.  What food do you think of  when you think of Poland?
Give up? It's cabbage.
Yes, cabbage.

The Polish use it for soups, stews, coleslaw and they even stuff it.
Cabbage as you know, has many benefits, especially when it comes to

fighting cancer. And researchers say that the many cabbage dishes served in
Poland, may be the reason the women have much lower breast cancer rates.
Well,  if breast cancer protection is something that interests you, then eat
more cabbage, but new research says that it may also do wonders for your
brain.

That's right- Red cabbage has the ability to keep your brain free of plaque,
the type of plaque that leads to Alzheimer's.
The red, purplish color fights the free radicals that wreak havoc on your
brain and other organs.
So, if you're concerned about healthier breasts or a healthier brain,
add more red cabbage to your diet.
And for those who aren't fans of cabbage, try the food that's popular in the
Andes, the food: Quinoa.
It too, can keep you from ever developing Alzheimer's.

And lastly, for those who are fans of Pumpkin, look for our new E-document
available at Amazon.com/ the kindle store. The E-doc: Orange is the New
Green, Healing Rxs From The Pumpkin Patch.
Download it today and learn how to use every part of the Pumpkin to
boost your health and your looks.

Good Luck!
