Tuscany's Food Rx For Better Moods!

                               Eat Your Beans!

With colder temperatures come increased appetites.

Why does it happen? Less sunlight, back-to-back holidays
that encourage eating and the abandonment of exercise programs.

If you recognize yourself in the above statements, then you might
have to eat the food that's considered a staple to the people of Tuscany.
That's right- Tuscany, a central region located in Italy, the people eat
Fava beans as the main course in a lot of their dishes.
And thanks to new research, Fava beans do more that satisfy your

appetite, they may boosts moods and help you avoid the constant
snacking that happens in the Winter months.

How does the Fava bean do it?
The buttery and nutty tasting bean may boost dopamine, (hormones
that give us pleasure). And if your dopamine levels get too low,
you try and find pleasure in a dozen donuts or endless bags of chips.
But, if your dopamine levels are at optimal levels, you tend to eat just

until you're satisfied.

So, are you ready to try this Fava bean dip and get your dopamine

levels up to optimal levels?
The Fava bean dip recipe:
Purchase Fava beans frozen. Take out a cup (let thaw) and place in a
food processor, add 1/4 cup of onions, chopped garlic (1 clove)
sun dried tomatoes, (pat the tomatoes dry), olive oil, 2 tbsps.
 a pinch of dried oregano,
basil and parsley.
and some salt and pepper.
Blend until smooth, remove and serve the dip with pita chips, or cut up
vegetables, like broccoli strips, asparagus tips, celery or carrot sticks.

That's it- your Winter recipe to help you stay slim and trim.
Also helpful: keep unhealthy foods out of the house.
Eat a piece of pizza, or have a burger on rare occasions.
Stick to a diet of lean meats, fish, vegetables, fruits,
Greek yogurt, olive and coconut oil and nuts. Or just follow
