Italy's Christmas Rx To Fight The Flu!

The 7 Fishes Rx To Prevent Illness!

With Christmas less than a week away, you may want to adopt the tradition used
by Italians for some time now. And what tradition is that?
Cooking a meal using 7 types of fish.

And why should you adopt this tradition?
It could help you prevent or fight the flu (if you're already sick)
That's right, the Christmas eve meal is an excellent defense against the flu.
Eating foods (like oysters, clams and other shellfish) enhances the body's
production of flu-clobbering proteins called cytokines.

And if salmon isn't part of your 7 fishes dinner, it should be, why?
It'll help strengthen your immune system, and a strong immune system
is another great weapon in your arsenal against Winter colds.

And lastly, make sure to add plenty of inexpensive herbs and spices
to your fish dinner. Spices and herbs like oregano, parsley, cumin,
coriander, turmeric, cayenne, curry powder, dill and rosemary also

strengthen your immune system.

Good Luck and Good Eating!

The World's Best Winter Drink For Better Concentration!

Drink Wine For a Better Brain!

If you're from a country that serves Mulled wine make sure to take advantage
of it.
Why?
You can stave off the deteriorating brain diseases such as Alzheimer's
and dementia and improve focus and concentration.

That's right, mulled wine or wine that's been heated up along with spices
has been popular in countries like Canada, England, Germany, Denmark, Bosnia,
Norway, Portugal and Spain for centuries and thanks to new research,
the wine not only heats you up on chilling nights, it (the drinks) can do wonders
for your brain.

Red wine is loaded with compounds that help prevent mental decline.
Plus, wine also contains resveratrol, which has been shown to improve
focus and short-term memory.
And there's more, this drink also contains a treasure trove of healthy benefits
thanks to the good-for-you spices such as cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves and ginger,

all of which help boost energy levels and circulation (especially to the brain)
and reduce inflammation, (especially the inflammation that settles near and
around the heart and brain).

So, if you're looking for something other than hot cocoa, eggnog, and ales this

holiday season, do your body and mind a big favor and indulge in mulled wine.
Indulge, but don't over-indulge.
Look for a mulled wine recipe online. Go to Google.com and type recipe for Mulled wine
in the search bar.

The Scandinavian Rx To Prevent Winter Illness!

                           Help For That Sore Throat!

Like a lot of people, you probably enjoy the Winter months.

The snow, the holidays, the endless array of food, warm fireplaces,
skiing, skating, family gatherings, etc.
And if you're like most (normal) people, you probably hate driving

in the snow, the weight gain from all of that good food and getting sick.
And by getting sick, we mean the beginning of a cold, the sore throat.

And if you're one who likes to use only natural methods to try and conquer
sore throats, colds and flu, then you may want to use the following recipe,
a recipe that can shut down and even prevent sore throats.
And something even better, the vegetables in this recipe
are now being recognized as one of the main contributing factors to
longevity records that the people of Denmark, Norway, Finland,
Iceland and Sweden currently enjoy.

And what is the contributing factor?
Root vegetables.
That's right, the women of Denmark, Finland and Norway take great pleasure
in growing and cooking onions, cabbage, turnips and parsnips
and these root vegetables are allowing the women (and men) to live well into
their 80's and 90's, trailing right behind the Japanese, (in terms of longevity).

So, if you're a vegetable lover, and you want to prevent sore throats and
hopefully live well into your 90's, just copy the recipe listed below.

Root Vegetable Medley!
Ingredients:
1 lb. onions
1 lb. carrots
1 lb. parsnips
1/2 lb. turnips

3 Tbs. butter
1/2 cup pine nuts
1 1/2 Tbs. minced garlic
4 to 6 wedges of lemon
1 Tbs. fresh minced parsley
--------------------------------------------
Directions:
Trim and peel onions, cut into thick wedges.
Trim and peel the carrots and parsnips, cut into thick
diagonal slices. Clean the turnips, peel them and then dice them.

Combine the veggies with a 1/2 cup of water and place in 3 to 3-1/2
qt. microwave safe baking dish. Cover with plastic wrap, microwave on
high until all of the veggies are tender, (about 10 to 12 mins.)
Stir the veggies while they're in the microwave.
In the meantime, take out a skillet, turn on the heat, (medium-high)
and melt the butter. Add the pine nuts, watching them so they don't burn,
add the minced garlic, until lightly browned. Drain the vegetables,

move them to a platter and top them with the garlic, pine nuts and minced parsley.
And lastly, squeeze the lemon juice over the vegetables, or
give a slice (or 2) of lemon to family (or guests) and let them
put their own lemon juice on.
That's it, this should serve 5 to 6 people.

New Zealand's Rx For Cat Owners!

The Sweet Treat For Cat Acne!
When it comes to pet ownership France, Ireland and the U.S. may be leading
the pack. Don't take it wrong, we're sure pet owners in Australia, Italy,
Germany and Spain care for their pets, but not in the same way
the people of France, Ireland and the U.S. do.

With that said, if you're a cat owner and want the best for them, then you

may want to know all about a medical issue that affects a large number of
cats.
What is it? Cat Acne.
Yes, the same thing that derails many a teen, is also a problem for a lot

of cats. And if you're seeing blackheads or breakouts on kittys' chin,
look to Australia's next door neighbor for help.

What type of help?
Honey as in Manuka honey.
Called the best (and expensive) honey in the World, vets recommend
disinfecting the spotted area with Betadine antiseptic (available at drugstores)
then applying a salve of Manuka honey, which has skin-healing properties.
And also important: the breakouts may be caused by overactive oil glands,

allergies or stress- so if you're not sure, check with your Vet.

One last request:
If you or someone close to you is truly a "cat lover" and you want some tips on how to curtail or even eliminate some of their anti-social and bad behaviors, head on over to Amazon.com/the kindle store and type--see title to the right in the search bar.
what type of behaviors?
* walking between your legs, which may result in your being
   injured (or worse)
* creating a ruckus whenever the cat carrier comes out
* Peeing (or worse) in the tub or sink, believe it or not,
your kitty may have an urinary tract infection
* hissing at company
* chewing on and tearing up Christmas decorations or
  the curtains.
* going after your garden or houseplants
* jumping on your computer
* ending Vet anxiety
Plus, many more tips.

Good Luck!

Canada's Sweet Rx For Better Health!

A Hot Toddy For The Winter!
A warm toddy is quite popular in a number of countries, England, Ireland, Germany
and Canada.
You know, a warm beverage (coffee or cocoa) with some alcohol in it.
And if you think  hot toddies' only purpose is to help warm you up
during the Winter months, you're wrong.

They (hot toddies) can help prevent colds, help you get over a cold,
build up immunity levels, build bone strength and if you're in Quebec
Canada during the big festival, their brand of a hot toddy can...
* help you fight certain cancers
* Slow down the aging process
* Beat bloat
* Help end a cold and flu.

How is this possible?
In Quebec, they make their toddies with maple syrup, real maple syrup,
not the high fructose corn syrup you find at most grocery stores.

Maple syrup, which is has a lower glycemic index than sugar is also
loaded with antioxidants, vitamins and minerals-making it a health-boosting
powerhouse.

So, if you're not able to get to Quebec Canada this Winter or even Vermont, (another
big maple syrup producer) don't sweat it, just use the hot toddy recipe down below.

Recipe for The Quebec Sweet Maple Coffee Toddy!
Ingredients:
1 cup hot coffee
1/3 cup milk, heated up a little (not scalding)
2 Tbs. brandy, or whiskey or cognac
1 Tbs. real maple syrup
Whipped cream
Maple sugar (optional)

Directions:
In a large mug, add the first 4 ingredients.
Stir well, and if you want- place a Tbs. of whipped cream and some

maple sugar on top.
That's it- a warm beverage to help lower the outdoor temperatures and
boost your health all at the same time.

Good Luck!

England's and Austria's Rx Fall To Fight The Flu!

                                  The Berry Good Natural Remedy!

Many of us are aware of the berries that are associated with Summer,
you know--strawberries, blueberries and raspberries.

But are you aware of the berry associated with Fall and is quite popular in
Austria and England?
Not sure...well it's Elderberries.

And if you should be one of the unlucky few who comes down with the flu
this yr. you may want to invest in some of these berries.

Why?
These tiny and tart berries may be more effective and (safer) than a flu shot.
They (the berries) can destroy at least 10 strains of influenza, and lower your
risk of illness dramatically-plus, the berries can help you recover faster if you should
come down with the flu.

And for those who still plan on getting a flu shot, eating some berries along with
getting a flu shot helps bolsters your immunity levels making it almost fortress-like.
So, if you visit your market this weekend or next weekend, look for black,

blue or purple elderberries. Add them to smoothies, a bowl of oatmeal or a
bowl of yogurt.

You can also use them to make jam, (watch the sugar, as it does a number on
ones immune system) syrup or even wine. Or look for elderberry extract available
online at Walgreens.com.

That's it- and for all of you out there interested in building a fortress-like
immune system, head online to Amazon.com/the kindle store and type
The World's Best Immunity Boosters in the search bar.
Download it and learn how the people of Germany, Canada, France,
Greece, Thailand, China and Japan keep illness at bay during the cold
and flu season.

You can play the horses, bingo and the lottery, but please, do not play with
your health.

Good Luck!

The German Rx For A Healthier Heart!

The German Rx For A Healthier Heart!

The Germans are industrious, hard working, hale and hearty and it's a
shame we (the rest of the World) don't look to them for their secrets
on a living such long and healthy lives.

Well, that's about to change, while going through our emails, we received
a recipe for a beverage that promises to not only heal a sickly heart, it (the beverage)
can help those who are already heart healthy and want to keep it that way.
The beverage was created by a German nun some centuries ago, to help

the women and men stay healthy during the tough Winter months and then the recipe
was rediscovered by some medical professions centuries later, who discovered it
can help those who needed something natural after suffering from all types of heart

ailments.

You know, ailments like arrhythmia, angina, tiredness after a little exertion, cardiac
weakness enlarged heart and other problems concerning the heart.
And if you're concerned about your heart health or the heart health of your loved ones,
perhaps you should give this a recipe a try.
The recipe for...
Heart Health Wine!
Ingredients:
1 bunch of parsley- stems removed, cleaned and cut up.
1 liter of good quality wine, dark red, black or white
Red wine or balsamic or apple cider vinegar 3 Tbs.
1/2 cup good quality dark honey (Manuka)
1 large-sized bottle with a top
-----------------------------------------------
Directions:
In a medium-sized or large saucepan place the first 3 ingredients.
Turn the heat on medium and (and then turn it down to low after  2 mins.) and
allow the ingredients to simmer for 10 mins.
After ten minutes turn off the heat and add the honey.
Stir well and let the ingredients mesh together and cool.

After the wine mixture has cooled, place the ingredients into a large
bottle, seal it up and store it in a cool, dark place.

And lastly, have a Tbs. of the wine mixture before heading off to
work or school, or in the evening before heading off to bed.
Or pour a little over a bowl of fruit, (berries) or over a salad.
An Important tip:
If you're being treated for any kind of heart problem and are taking
any type of medication, do not go off or throw out your prescribed medication

in favor of this recipe. Please talk it over with your medical adviser or doctor
before making any changes.

And if you enjoyed this, and want a little more info on how wine and parsley
can add yrs. (maybe even decades) to your life, head on over to Amazon.com/the
kindle store and look for...
