The President's Nordic Secrets For a Longer Life!

                               Eat Like a Scandinavian!

President Barak Obama is entertaining dignitaries from 5 Scandinavian
countries, and if he and the first lady (Michelle) are smart, they'll continue
to eat "Nordic" foods long after the dignitaries leave.

Why?
They'll live longer, look younger, boost their memories, reduce
their appetites and lower their odds of becoming diabetic.

That's right, foods popular in Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Norway
and Iceland can do all of these things, foods like...

a) Red Cabbage-
Want to reduce your odds of getting certain cancers, remove extra estrogen
(the female hormone) from your system, live an extra 5 to 7 yrs. longer
and bolster your memory?
Eat more cabbage, especially Red cabbage.
b) Beets-
Want more energy and stamina without resorting to pills, or other unnatural
methods? Eat more Beets. Also eat beets to keep skin youthful and moisturized.

c) Salmon-
People in Norway, Iceland and Denmark eat way more fish than Americans
and if you take up this practice, you can expect better moods and less depression.

And something even better- eat more fish, (salmon, sardines, mackerel, tuna
and trout) in the Winter and you can bypass SAD. (seasonal affective disorder.
It works for the Scandinavians- they only get a few hours of sunlight in the Winter.

That's it- and if you want to find out about Rye bread, olive oil and Ligonberries,
head to Amazon.com/the kindle store and download--The Nordic Secrets to
Perfect Health in the search bar. Learn how to live longer and look better
just like the Scandinavians.

And lastly, need a gift idea for Father's day?

Asia's Recipe For A Flatter Stomach!

The Secret Recipe For a Flatter Stomach!

When it comes to aging well and maintaining weight a lot of people look to
the Asians.
Their ability to maintain weight has a lot of people in other countries
hoping for that kind of success.
Well, hope no more, a top nutritionist has come up with a dish that
uses a lot of ingredients that are so popular in Asian culture
and if you want to trim down (especially in the belly area) you too,

should start eating this dish.
The dish: Beef Fried Rice.
We know, fried rice and beef?
Yes, beef -although it gets a bad rap, helps speed up metabolism and
cuts cravings and the rice-it steadies blood sugar levels,  and since it's
rich in fiber and other nutrients, it lowers the insulin production
that triggers the fat.
So, if you're a fan of beef, rice and a flatter stomach, make the following dish.
Beef-Fried Rice..

Ingredients:
1 cup of uncooked brown rice-
2 boneless beef rib-eye steaks, cut 3/4" thick, about 8 oz. each.
2 Tbs. lite soy sauce
1 tsp. instant coffee powder
6 tsp. oil, (peanut, walnut, coconut or olive)

1/2 cup chopped onions
1/2 cup thinly sliced mushrooms

2 eggs, beaten
1/2 cup thinly sliced scallions (optional)
------------------------------------------------------------
Directions:

Cook the rice according to the directions on the box.
Cut beef crosswise into 1 X 1/8 inch strips
Mix soy sauce and coffee powder until coffee dissolves.
In a large nonstick skillet, heat up 2 tsp of the oil
over medium-heat until hot.
Add the onions and mushrooms, fry for a min. or two,

add the eggs-cook stirring occasionally, about 1 minute.
Stir in the rice, soy sauce,  cook for another minute,
Remove the contents of this skillet to a large plate
and keep warm. Add half of the beef to the skillet with some oil and cook until

the beef is no longer pink, remove it and place it on a plate and add the rest of
the beef and oil and cook until beef is no longer pink, after that add the rice
and beef to the skillet and allow it cook for another minute (stirring well)

or until heated through, remove from the skillet and sprinkle with scallions.
And there you have it, a belly-flattening dish that would make you the envy of
people everywhere, (especially in Asian countries)..
Also helpful:
If you like your fried rice spicier, by all means go ahead and indulge.
Spices like cayenne pepper, cumin, ginger, and cinnamon, all encourage

fat cells to use blood sugar for fuel, before it becomes stored as fat.

Good Luck!

England and Ireland's Rxs For Great Winter Health!

Drink Your Way To Better Health!

Don't let the title mislead you, although it may say England and Ireland,
it isn't about pubs.
No, the way to feel great all Winter long is with tea- something the English and
Irish people know a thing or two about and if you're not too familiar
with the different teas and how they can benefit your health,
just continue reading.

a) Get Over a Cold-
With Rose Hip tea. This fruity and sweet tea has 5 times more vitamin C than an orange ,
making your immune system almost fortress-like. A fortress that can help you cut
the duration of a cold by 1 to 3 days.
Another benefit: The vitamin C also brightens up your complexion.
b) End The Blue Moods-
With the cold, the shorter days and the endless supply of greasy and
fattening food, the Winter months can do a number to ones moods and to
overcome those feelings of darkness and despair, drink Tulsi tea.
This mint-like herbal tea increases the production of "feel-good" hormones
in the brain, much like Dr.-prescribed antidepressants.
Just consider this tea, a safer and cheaper antidepressant.
c) South African Botox-
We may have done a post (or two) on Rooisbos tea, but if you're new
here- it bears repeating. If you're noticing skin sagging, wrinkles
or plain aging, make sure and have a cup (or two) of Rooisbos tea a day.
This red brew can rapidly repair and clear up your complexion in
record time. And even more impressive- it works better than a lot of
pricey creams found at drugstores and beauty supply shops.
One more tip: Make sure to drink the tea with lemon or a little honey
or some cream, and not with sugar and sugary danishes.
Sugar and sugary carbs wreak havoc on your skin.
d) Avoid Winter Weight Gain-
With Ginger tea. Ginger is recommended for a host of ills,

and today, it's being recommended for those who gain weight during the
cold months. Why? Ginger is a diuretic that releases trapped fats and fluids,

it also relieves swelling, bloating and water retention, helping you look
slimmer and trimmer.
Another benefit: Ginger also reduces, nausea and pain and joint stiffness.

Look for these teas online at Iherb.com, SwansonVitamins.com or
well-stocked tea stores or health-food stores.

There you have it,  some other teas that also heal and boost health,
all courtesy of our friends from England and Ireland.
And one last tip: If you're partial to black tea like the Irish and the Brits,
please continue to drink it, as it (black tea) can help women overcome fertility
problems, help you sleep, help you become calmer and more relaxed and

even improve your vision.

To avoid colds and illnesses and stay healthy all Winter long, visit Amazon.com/the
kindle store and type The World's Best Immunity Boosters in the search bar.
Download it and learn how people all over the World, use food, beverages, the Sun,
sex,
family time, and exercise to keep their Immune systems in tip-top shape.

Good Luck!

England's Rx To Boost Winter Heart Health!

                                  A Cup of Tea, Please!

Can you guess what season creates the most heart attacks?
If you said the Summer season, you're wrong. It's the Winter season.
And researchers say it happens for a number of reasons, like...

* Colder air- which constrict airways and arteries
* Lack of exercise- many feel that it's too cold to head outdoors

and just give up their exercise routines.
* Non-Stop Buffets- As in Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's eve,

superbowl parties, and Valentine's day- champagne, chocolate, a good sirloin, etc.
* Lack of Sunlight- That's right, shorter days and too little sunlight play a part in
your well-being.  The Sun gets a bad rap, but it can actually boost immunity
levels and keep you fit, trim and heart healthy.

* Snow Shoveling- Sitting indoors for days and weeks at a time and then coming out
to shovel is equivalent to running a marathon in some cases.
Hey, it's not called The "Widow Maker" for nothing,
And now that you know about some of the causes for that Winter heart attack,
it's time to learn how one country may help you prevent them.

The country: England!

Hey, no jokes about fish and chips (fries) or bubble and squeak, or -heavy
meals or endless mugs of beer.
This tip is all about that beverage that has kept most Brits hale and hearty
for centuries, the beverage: Tea, and not your run-of-the mill black tea.

No- the tea that'll keep your heart in tip-top shape, is Earl Grey Tea!
It protects your heart in 2 ways, the 2 ways...

* It cuts the risk of clogged arteries, thanks to the antioxidants in the tea.
* And it contains a key flavoring called Bergamot, acts like a Dr. prescribed
statin to reduce bad cholesterol and increase the good kind of cholesterol.

So, if you're concerned about your heart health in the Winter or any other

season, make sure to have the beverage that's been a staple of the
English diet for centuries, Earl Grey tea.
Look for Earl Grey tea at supermarkets or health-food stores, or go online
to a reputable tea shoppe and buy some loose tea and steep it for 5 mins.

Avoid oversteeping or it'll be bitter.
And serve some with lemon or lime juice and not milk as it has a citrusy flavor
already. Also helpful...skip the scones, danish, canolis, doughnuts and other
pastries with your cup of tea, this too, also helps you avoid  Winter heart attacks.

Good Luck!

Ethiopia's Rx To Staying Young and Healthy!

                      Drink More Coffee!

When it comes to coffee, you always hear about Colombia and
Brazil. But what about Ethiopia?
They too, also are some of the biggest coffee producers and
consumers in the World.
And if you're still not convinced, that it (coffee) will do any good
to benefit your health, continue reading.

a) An Improved Memory-
Concerned about memory loss or worse-Alzheimer's?
Well, adults who get 2 or cups a day are 60% less likely to
develop memory problems.
Also helpful: have your coffee with a little milk or sugar.
Overdoing the cream, the sugar and having a pastry, or other type

of sweet (with your coffee)  is what really causes the
health problems, not the coffee.
b) A Mood Booster-
Are you the type that worries most of the day?
Or do you see the glass as half-empty?
To end the negative thinking and blue moods, drink more
coffee.
c) Lower Diabetes Risk-
Concerned about becoming diabetic?
Put those fears aside with 2 or more cups of coffee.

It lowers your odds of getting diabetes by 40%.
d) Sharper Vision-
Another concern as one ages, vision loss.
Not with coffee around, it doesn't have to happen. And some more benefits of a cup or two or three of coffee a day, reduce skin cancer risks, lower your odds of getting MRSA, keep your heart in tiptop shape and lower your blood pressure.

That's it- and if you weren't so sure about the benefits of drinking coffee, this blog post puts those fears to rest.

And one last thing, if you want to avoid the endless doctor visits and financial hardships associated with blood pressure, head on over to
Amazon.com/the kindle store and download
a copy of-see title to the right.

Good Luck!

South America's Beverage Rx For More Energy!

                                           Drink More Yerba Mate!

Coffee may be the most popular drink in a lot of countries,
but in Argentina, Brazil, Chile and Paraguay it's all about
Yerba Mate.

What is it? It's a tea that can stimulate mental alertness and boost
energy, and unlike coffee-it doesn't produce the crashes that happen
after a few cups.
Want more? Yerba Mate-has more antioxidants than green tea,
antioxidants that can reverse heart disease and reduce damage to
arteries, lowering cholesterol by about 10%.

So, coffee lovers are you ready to trade your favorite
beverage for Yerba Mate?
If so, head to your local health-food store and pick up
a box. To make- steep it in water hotter than 150 degrees.

At this temperature- the most antioxidants are released.
And one more thing- check with your Dr. before drinking this tea,
if you're on any type of medication, it may not be wise to mix the two.

Good Luck!
